Maria Gnas and Team Gnas at Keller Williams Bluegrass Realty are passionate about surpassing all expectations, rising above industry standards to stay at the top of your list and first on your mind when you or anyone you know needs Real Estate experts!
Maria Gnas
Maria has been in the Real Estate industry since 1987.
Born in Havana Cuba, she moved to the United States at the age of seven, in July of 1961.
She remembers passing through Kentucky on her way to Weston, West Virginia in 1962 and seeing all the horses, the pretty plank fences and the gently rolling hills and saying to her mother... "This is where I want to live for the rest of my life!" Little knowing that two years later in 1964, her dad would take a position in Danville, Kentucky.
Maria thinks of Danville as her hometown, because that is where she did most of her growing up; while her family lived there for ten years. She played tennis, and was on the yearbook staff, along with many other clubs. Maria went to college at the University of Kentucky in 1972 so she stayed in Lexington when her parents moved back to warmer weather, Gainesville, Florida in 1974.
Maria stayed in Lexington after graduating from UK in 1976 and took a teaching position with Fayette County Schools the next year at Leestown Junior High School aka Leestown Middle School from August of 1977 until June of 1990.
Maria began her career as a Realtor in March 1987. Her family put their house on the market in 1986. That listing qualified as one of the worst real estate experiences ever. Eventually the house sold through a second Realtor. Maria thought to herself, "I can do better for people than this first guy did for us." At which point Maria decided to get into the real estate business. Her mother always told her that she would be good at Real Estate. Maria's mom, Julia Pages' dad was a Real Estate Broker in Havana, Cuba and so was her Uncle Eddie. It was determined that Real Estate was engrained in Maria's blood.
When Maria's daughter Allison was born in 1989, she decided to quit teaching and become a "stay and work from home mom" as well as a full time Realtor. She did not realize how busy she would quickly become.
"I'm fortunate that I've been a top producer for every company with which I have been affiliated." - Maria
The Gnas household is composed of Maria, Chuck, Andrew, Grandma Julia, Occassionally Allison (who attends Morehead State) the dog "Otis", several fish; and the horse "Captain Jack Sparrow" who lives at Sunburst Farm and Horsemanship School.
In August 2005, Maria and eleven of her colleagues decided that it was time to start their own Real Estate company and they invested in Keller-Williams Bluegrass Realty.
